What’s the difference?

toxicThe difference between traditional make up and true mineral make up is what is not in them! All make up has MICA and minerals and OXIDES such and ZINC and TITANIUM but mineral make-up usually does not contain any water. Water is what provides a nice home for bacteria so a preservative is necessary to keep you from getting sick. Usually preservatives contain formaldehyde, parabens, and other nasty chemicals. Be aware of fake advertising! Many brands will say their products are all natural mineral make up, but the truth is in their ingredient list. READ THE LABEL Things like bismuth oxychloride, disodium EDTA, sodium laureth /lauryl sulfate, mineral oil, coal tar dyes (FD&C Dyes, Lake Dye) and dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone, triethanolamine.

How long will it last?

Mineral make up will last until you decide to remove it. It has great durabilityprovided by the kaolin clay and titaniumdioxide. (The original stuff used in sun BLOCK along with zinc oxide). It is water resistant too!. I have slept in it and it still on in the morning provided that I haven’t slept on my face! As for expiration dates,powder pigmentssuch as foundations and blush or eye shadows will last a long time. There is no water for bacteria to take hold. Keep your brushes clean and your hands washed when handling any cosmetics and your make up will last and last!

How do you remove it?

It can easily be washed away with a good hydrating bar of soap. Organic coconut oil easily removes mascara and eye makeup, and as a bonus, it will also moisturize and condition your lashes!

How do I choose the best mineral make up?

The easiest way is to look for the shortest ingredient list with the least amount of chemically sounding names. READ THE LABEL! Online is a great resource for finding out what is in certain brands. Research! Research! Research! The more information you have, the better! There are very few brands that you can buy from the drug store that are actually truly chemical free. So really read that label a few times and be informed.

I have very sensitive skin. Is mineral make up safe for me?

Mineral Make up is ideal for sensitive skin. Many people find that their skin actually benefits from the soothing effects of kaolin clay and titanium oxide. Other ingredients like silk mica add skin rich peptides to help aide in a glowing complexion.
